Introduce yourself!:)
My name is Pamela Robinson. I was born and raised in San Diego but currently live in Reno Nevada. I have been creating things since I was 7 years old.
I have always known that I would do something in the art field but it never became clear until about 2 years ago. I enjoy
working with fabric and leather and finding use for items and material that would otherwise end up in the trash.

Tell us a bit about your business..
I make handbags using reclaimed materials and currently work in my home studio

What inspired you to start your etsy shop?
I used to make crochet wire jewelry and found Etsy through a random search on google for other artists that were doing the same thing I was. I wanted to find my competition. When I ran into Etsy I decided to list some of my work and was shocked my the amount of interest people had in my work. This was the true start of my online career
with Etsy.


When you're not being crafty, what do you do?
Lots of e-mailing, marketing and website design

Whats your favorite book, song, movie & website?
Books~I don't do much reading but when I do, I enjoy more of the self help and business books. I know, sounds boring!
I enjoy all of the Artist Way books and read the "Blessings" book on a daily basis
...and anything to do with art ~ I am very visual and enjoy looking at others work.

How do you promote your work?
I network with other artists online. I think its important to promote locally, so I have been getting the word out around Reno as much as I can.
Whenever I go anywhere, running errands around town or shopping at the mall, I tell people about what I do. The easiest form of advertising has been carrying a bag that I designed and get compliments on that. Its easy to explain to people what I do when I can show my work.


What are your short-term & long-term goals?
Participating in more local shows. Long term - Opening of my own gallery/boutique


Do you run uniques full time?
Yes, Full time + I don't get much sleep. My hours are completely random and long, but I enjoy the flexibility of this and would preferworking for myself over someone else anytime:)
