Introduce yourself!:)
We are Mark & Stefani. We live in sunny southern California with our two little girls.

Tell us a bit about your business..
We run our business from home along with a couple other side businesses. However, the pendants keep us pretty busy.

What inspired you to start crafting with scrabble tiles?
Mark was designing furniture and painting abstract art. His sister told him about Etsy, which we had never heard of. He started selling his art and furniture on Etsy and thought that I should make something to sell to bring in a little extra money. I love making jewelry so thought I should find something related to that. Then we started making the scrabble pendants and they sort of just took off.

When you're not being crafty, what do you do?
We love hanging out with our girls, listening to music (which is what we do while crafting). I've been reading the Twilight series (again) and Mark wishes he was rock climbing and going extreme mountain biking. He teaches and I keep up with the office side of the business.

Do you like to play scrabble in your free time?
Nope. You'd think we would...we have enough scrabble tiles around here! Just the other day I was wondering if we'd ever want to play scrabble after this. I love the game, just haven't played in a long time. I don't think we even have a scrabble board!

Whats your favorite book, song, movie & website?
At the moment, I love the Twilight series. A favorite song is Crash by the Primitives. Favorite movie...The Trouble with Harry. And favorite website is Pandora (or Etsy since it helps pay the bills!)

How do you promote your work?
We ask our customers to blog about their purchase and in turn we send them a gift. It's worked pretty well for us. We are so grateful to our customers and their generosity of sharing our pendants with their friends.

What are your short-term & long-term goals?
Short term goal...finish making today's batch of pendants before midnight so I can have some ice cream before bed. Long term...live a long and happy life with those we love near us.

Do you run homestudio full time?
Yes, this is a full time business for both of us.

What advice do you have for other crafters who may want to start an indie craft business like yours?
Find something you love to do, work smart (not hard), have awesome customer service, and find a great way to advertise.
